Sippi

Sippi

Quarter Horse Palomino Mare · 23 years

Sippi embodies who we are and what we want to share. Born deaf and now blind in one eye, she came to me as a wild 2 year old in 2005 when I was experiencing a tremendous darkness from childhood abuse. She was “broken.” I was lost. Together we learned, healed, grew, and flourished. Sippi is the perfect representation of God’s broken, imperfect, and yet wholly beautiful creation. She displays what He wants to do and make known in us.

Mags

Mags

Quarter Horse Bay Mare · 7 years

Mags is from the Beggs Cattle Company (https://www.beggscattleco.com/) which was established in 1876 and thrives today with honors of the AQHA Legacy Award and the Charles Goodnight award due to their contributions to preserve Western heritage and tradition still working cattle with horses and cowboys. She was originally acquired as a yearling to enhance the Perry Johns breeding program but her first interactions with a child showed her gifts went far beyond genetics. Mags is keenly intelligent, watching every move, incredibly inquisitive, often touching someone from head to toe upon introduction, and tremendously protective of her “herd.” She also seems to pass these characteristics on to her offspring!

Wicker

Wicker

Quarter Horse Buckskin Filly · 2 years

Wicker is the newest addition to the GRW remuda and comes from the historic Wicker Ranch (https://wickerranch.com/) which is led by matriarch, friend, avid horsewoman, and pioneer Ms Jean Jones. Wicker is a true representation of the founding Texas ranchers who raised horses that had to be physically tough and mentally resilient to survive harsh terrain, predators, and a long day’s work. Wicker draws you in with her “wild” and proud appearance, keen intellect, and willingness to face new experiences with her human companions fearlessly.

JJ aka "Snickers"

JJ aka "Snickers"

Quarter Horse Buckskin Mare · 10 years

Snickers is part of the legacy of horses that my relative, Perry Johns, began. She was bred to run and has lived a life as a ranch horse. She’s seen it all with the highest level of riders and yet, a small child can climb up on her and she carries them with care. She is an astute teacher of emotional regulation and body control.
